Why it works
What silver does that grey cannot
Metallic, not grey
Metallic pigment gives a reflective silver, so a repair on bright or galvanised steel blends instead of showing as a flat patch.
Corrosion resistant
Puts a protective coat back over a weld or a grind mark where the original finish has been taken off.
Not just for metal
Wood, glass, prepared plastics, concrete and stone all take it, which is what makes it useful for decorative work.
Fast drying
Quick enough to recoat and get the item back into use without tying up bench space.
Overview
Silver that reads as metal
There is a difference between a grey paint and a silver one. Grey covers; silver reflects, because the pigment is metallic flake rather than colour. That is what makes it the right thing for touching in a weld on bright or galvanised steel, where a flat grey patch would be obvious from across the yard, and for decorative work where you want something that is not metal to look as though it is.

Frequently asked questions
Will it match galvanised steel?
Will it match galvanised steel?
It gives a bright metallic silver that blends far better with galvanising than a flat grey would, but it is paint rather than zinc, so it is a visual match and not a like-for-like replacement of the galvanised coating.
Is it a cold galvanising paint?
Is it a cold galvanising paint?
No. It is a decorative and protective silver acrylic described as corrosion resistant. If you need a zinc-rich cold galvanising product for structural corrosion protection, that is a different thing - ask us and we will point you at one.
What surfaces does it go on?
What surfaces does it go on?
Metal, wood, glass, paintable plastics, concrete and stone. All of them need to be clean, dry and free of loose material first.
How big is the can?
How big is the can?
500ml, 65mm across and 240mm tall, at 0.4kg.
Can it be used outside?
Can it be used outside?
Yes. Spray in dry conditions and let it dry before it takes any weather.
Will it go over an existing painted finish?
Will it go over an existing painted finish?
Over a sound, clean and keyed painted surface, yes. Over a flaking or unknown finish, take it back to something sound first or the new coat will only be as good as what is under it.
